Given :-

◉ A car is travelling at a constant speed of s = 120 km/h down a road for time t = 3 hours.

◉ It starts 400 km away from its destination.

To Find :-

◉ How close will it be at the end.

Solution :-

First, Let us find the distance the car travelled in 3 hours.

We know,

Distance = Speed × Time

⇒ d = 120 × 3 [ given ]

d = 360 Km

Hence, The car would travel 360 km.

Now, It is given that the car starts 400 km away from its destination.

It is clear that he won't travel the whole 400 km in 3 hours because its speed is 120 km/hr.

So, The car would only travel 360 km in 3 hours and the rest distance would be left uncovered.

⇒ Distance left to cover = 400 - 360

Distance left to cover = 40 Km

Hence the car would be closer to its destination by 40 km.
