A car is traveling from city A to city B, with the speed of 75 Km/h. The driver passed quarter of the distance and took a break for one and half hour. The rest of the way he did with speed of 100 km/h. He arrived one hour later than he was supposed to arrive if he traveled in 75 km/h and didn’t take a break.
What is the distance between city A and city B?

Answer:

 the distance between A and B is 200 km

Step-by-step explanation:

let the distance be x

distance for first leg            (x/4),          T(1) = (x/300)

distance for second leg      (3x/4)        T(2) = (3x/400)

Rest  (3/2)  ,    Total time  (x/300) + (3x/400) +  (3/2)

total time without break with one hour late = (x/75) + 1

Equating x = 200
