Given That :

  • Initial Velocity of Car (u) = 22m/s
  • Final Velocity of Car (v) = 0m/s
  • Deceleration of Car (a) = [ - 8m/s ]

Need To Find :

  • Minimum stopping distance for the car ?

Formula Used Here :

  • v² = u² + 2as

Where :

  • v = Final Velocity
  • u = Initial Velocity
  • a = acceleration
  • s = minimum Stopping distance

Putting Value in Formula :

  • ➻ v² = u² + 2as
  • ➻ (0)² = (22)² + 2 × (- 8) × s
  • ➻ 0 = 484 - 16s
  • ➻ - 484 = - 16s

[ Cancelling -ve sign both sides ]

  • ➻ 484 = 16s
  • ➻ 484 / 16 = S
  • Min. Stopping Distance = 30.25m

Hence :

  • » Minimum stopping distance for car is 30.25m
