Question:-

a car is traveling with initial velocity of 20m/s and uniform acceleration of 5m/s² .calculate its velocity after 20 sec.

Solution:-

Given,

  • Car is traveling with initial velocity of 20m/s with an acceleration of 5m/s² and it takes 20sec to travel the distance then find the final velocity.

We can find the final velocity of the car by using the first equation of motion:-

u = 20m/s ; a = 5 m/s² ; t = 20sec ; v = ?

v = u + at

v = 20 + 5(20)

v = 20 + 100

v = 120m/s

Answer :-

Given -

  • Initial velocity = 20 m/s
  • Acceleration = 5m/s²
  • Time taken = 20 sec

To Find :-

  • Final velocity

Solution :-

We have initial velocity, acceleration and time, by simply substituting the value in 1st equation of motion, we can find final velocity.

v = u + at

⟹ v = 20 + 5 × 20

⟹ v = 20 + 100

⟹ v = 120

Final velocity = 120 m/s
