A car is travelling at a speed of 126 km/h. Brakes are applied so as to produce a uniform acceleration of – 2.5 m/s2. Find how far the car will go before it is brought to rest?

126×5÷8=35m/s

a=2.5m/s2

a=v÷t

t=v÷a

35÷2.5=14s

t=14s

thus,d=s×t

35×14=490m/s
