Given that

distance = 100 km /h

time = 8 hrs

then as speed = $\frac{distance}{time}$

therefore speed

= $\frac{100}{8}$

= 12.5 km/h


Now to find the average speed to cover the distance in 5 hrs we have to divided distance by time

Avg speed = $\frac{100}{5}$

= 20 km /h
