  • As we are already given with the speed values ,we need not use the distance time and speed relationship.

We need to know that:-

\bf{Speed = \dfrac{Distance}{Time}}

And also,

\bf{Average \ Speed = \dfrac{Total \ Distance}{Total \ Time}}

We need not use any of them.

We will attempt is as:-

\bf{Average \ Speed = \dfrac{40 + 60}{2}}

  • For given 2 speeds.
  • And given 2 paths.

\bf{Average \ Speed = \dfrac{100}{2}}

\sf{Average \ Speed = 50 km/h } is the answer.
