final speed (v) = 4m/s

time interval (t) = 3 sec

acceleration (a) = ?

we know that,

a = final speed-intial speed÷time or v-u/t

putting the values,

a = 4-10/3= -6/3= -2m/s²

minus sign indicate that the speed with time and this minus type of acceleration is also called retardation.
