Find the number of hours the first car has traveled by 5pm:

Number of hours from 11 am to 5 pm = 6 hours

Find the number of hours the second car has traveled by 5pm:

Number of hours = 6 - 1 = 5 hours

Find the distance the first car would have traveled in that 6 hours:

Time = 6 hours

Speed = 50 km/h

Distance = Speed x Time

Distance = 50 x 6 = 300 km

Find the speed of the second car so that it can overtake first car at 5pm:

Distance = 300 km

Time = 5 hours

Speed = Distance ÷ Time

Speed = 300 ÷ 5 = 60 km/h

Answer: The second car must be driving at 60 km/h
