A car meets with an accident while going to its destination and moves at ⅖ of its actual speed. Also, due to accident, it is late by 60 minutes. Find the actual time taken by the car to reach its destination? Short method

let speed be s, distance be d and time be t

so s=d/t .. ..  so d=s*t

but after accident 2/5*s = d * (t+60)

so d = 2/5*s * (t+60)

equating d's , you get

s*t = 2/5 * s * (t+60)

5*s*t = 2*s*t + 120 s

so...  3t = 120 , t=40
