formula of average is = sum of all numbers/total number of numbers

now lets solve it

40+60 = 100

total number of numbers = 2

so average speed is = 100/2

=50 kmph

At 60 km/h, the car takes 1 minute to go 1 km. At 40 km/h, the car takes 6/4 minute to go 1 km. So distance/time equals:

V=2 km/ 1 + 3/2 minutes=2/0.04166667 hours=48 km/h avg.
