Step-by-step explanation:

Speed of car in first 15 minutes = 40 km/h

Distance covered = speed × Time taken

60 minutes = 1 hour

15 minutes = 60/15hour

Distance covered = 240× 60/15

=10km

Speed of car in next 15 minutes = 60 km/h

Distance covered = 60× 60

15

=15km

∴ Total distance covered = (10+15)km = 25 km

∴ 25

case 1

S=20KM/hr

T=15MIN

1/60*15=3/12=1/4hr

D=SxT

=20x1/4=5KM

case 2

S=60KM/hr

T=15MIN

1/60*15=3/12=1/4hr

D=SxT

=60x1/4=15KM

TOTAL DISTANCE=case1+2

                              =5+15=20 KM
