The distance covered by the car will be 25km.

bhuvanhazard: how?
akasharjun12: For the first 15 mins...The car travels a dist. of (40/60)*15=10km and for the next 15 mins...The car travels a dist. of (60/60)*15=15km. Adding both we get 25km as the answer
bhuvanhazard: Okay.
akasharjun12: Understood?
bhuvanhazard: yeah had a great explanation
akasharjun12: Ok

Distance(d)=speed(s)×time(t)

1st 15 mins(1/4hrs)

d1=s1×t=40×1/4

=10km

2nd 15 mins(1/4)

d2=s2×t=60×1/4

=15km

Total distance=d1+d2=10+15

=25km
