Explanation:

Given :-

Speed of car in first 15 minutes is= 40 km/h

As we know that :-

60 minutes = 1 hour

So,

15 minutes = 15/60

Formula:-

 Distance covered = speed × Time taken

Solution:-  

Distance covered = 240× 15/ 60 = 10 km  

​ Speed of car in next 15 minutes = 60 km/h

Distance covered = 60× 15/60 = 15km

​   ∴ Total distance covered = (10+15)km = 25 km
