average speed =
$\frac{2(s1 \times s2)}{s1 + s2} \\ = \frac{2 \times 20 \times 30}{20 + 30} \\ = \frac{1200}{50} \\ = 24m {s}^{ - 1}$

hence , average speed is 24m/s
