Method 1- speed=distance/time
t1= S/2×20=S/40
t2=S/2×60=S/120
t=t1+t2
t=S/40+S/120=S/30
Average speed=speed/time=S/S/30=30m/sex.

Method 2- let distance covered in 1st half time x and distance covered in second half time is y so,
Average speed=2×x×y/x+y=2×20×60/20+60=2400/80= 30m/sec.

Rainaebad: I didn't understand Ur answer. Please explain.
Rainaebad: And my answer is 40m/s.
Ramanarrora: Use the second method it is easy question
Ramanarrora: The answer is 30m/sec only
Ramanarrora: It's confirm
Ramanarrora: To find average speed the formula used is (2×V1×V2)/V1+V2 now put the value and get the answer.
