Explanation:

The average velocity is in attachment

Average speed I have text down

time travelled in North = 2sec

speed in North = 4m/s

distancs covered in North = speed × time

= 4 ×2 = 8m

time travelled in West = 6sec

speed in West = 1 m/s

distance covered in South = 6sec × 1 =6m

total time = 2sec + 6sec = 8sec

Total distance = 8m + 6m =14m

Average speed = total distance/total time

= 14/8 = 7/4 m/s
