Answer:

Average Speed = 36.67 km/hr

Step-by-step explanation:

Average Speed = Total Distance traveled / Total Time taken

For the first 1 hour, the car traveled at a speed of 30 kmph.

This means that at the end of 1 hour the car would have covered 30 km.

Therefore in the first 1 hour the car covered 30 km.

For the next 2 hours the car has been traveling at 40 kmph.

This means that the car would cover 40 km in 1 hour. Therefore for 2 hours it would have covered 40 * 2 = 80 km

Therefore Total distance traveled is 30 + 80 = 110 km

Total time = 3 hours.

⇒ Average Speed = 110 km / 3 hr = 36.67 km/hr

This is the required answer.

Hope it helped !!

Have a great day :)

(a).speed =30km/hr

time=1hr

hence speed =distance/time

so distance=speed×time=30×1=30km

(b). speed=40km/hr

time=2hr

hence 40×2=80km.

(c) total distance=80+30=110km

(d) total time= 2+1=3hr

(e) hence average speed=total distance

total time

=110km/3hr=36.67km/hr

hope this helps this is 100 percent satisfying answer
