A car moves with a speed of 30km/h for half- an- hour; 25km/h for 1 hour and 40km/h for 2 hour. What is the average speed of the car?

Distance covered in half an hour at 30 km/hr = s×t = 30 × 1/2= 15km.

Distance covered in 1 hr at 25 km / hr = s×t = 25 × 1 = 25 km.

Distance covered in 2hr at 40 km / hr = s×t = 40 × 2 = 80 km.

Therefore Total Distance = 15 + 25 + 80 =120 km.

Total time taken 3hrs and 30 mins = 7/2 hrs.

Therefore, average speed = total distance covered / total time taken = 120x2/7= 34.28km/hr.
