A car moves with a speed of 40 km/h for 15 minutes and then with a speed of
60 km/h for the next 15 minutes. Find the total distance covered by the car in
these 30 minutes.​

1st case;

speed of the car= 40 km/h

time taken = 15 min = 15/60 h = 1/4 h

Distance covered, D1= speed × time

=> D1 = 40 × 1/4

=> D1 = 10 km

2nd case:

speed of the car= 60 km/h

time taken = 15 min = 15/60 h = 1/4 h

Distance covered, D2= speed × time

=>D2 = 60 × 1/4

=>D2 = 15 km

Total distance (D1 + D2) = (10+15) km = 25 km
