A car moves with a speed of 40 km/h for 5 minutes and then with a speed of 60 km/h for
the next 5 minutes. Calculate the total distance covered by the car

distance=speed *time

here first convert minutes into hour

60 minutes =1hour

1 minute =1/60 hour

5 minutes=5*1/60 hour=1/12 hour

now distance covered with speed 40

S1= 40*1/12

also distance covered with speed 60

S2 =60*1/12

total distance covered by car = s1+S2

40/12+60/12=100/12=8.33 km
