Given:-

  • A car moves with a speed of 40km/h for 15 minutes
  • With a speed of 60km/h for the next 15 minutes.

To find:-

  • Total distance covered by the car

Solution:-

Using the formula,

Distance = speed × time taken

Distance covered in the 1st 15min :-

Given,

  • Speed = 40kmph

→Time = 15min

Converting minutes to hours,

➾60 minutes = 1 hour

➾15 minutes = 15/60 hours

Therefore,

  • Time = 0.25hrs

Putting values in the formula,

➾Distance = speed×time

➾40×0.25

➾10km

Distance covered in the next 15min :-

Given,

  • Speed = 60kmph

→Time = 15min

Converting minutes to hours,

➾60 minutes = 1 hour

➾15 minutes = 15/60 hours

Therefore,

  • Time = 0.25hrs

Putting values in the formula,

➾Distance = speed × time

➾60 × 0.25

➾15km

Total distance covered:-

➾Distance covered in the first 15min + next 15min

➾10 + 15

25km

Therefore, the total distance covered by the car is 25km.

Given :-

  • A car moves with a speed of 40km/h for 15 minutes
  • With a speed of 60m/h for the next 15 minutes.

To find :-

  • Total distance covered by the car

Solution :-

  • Using the formula

Distance = speed × time taken

Distance covered in the 1st 15m :-

Given :-

  • Speed = 40kmph

★ Time = 15min

Converting minutes to hours,

● 60 minutes = 1 hours

● 15 minutes =  {\bf{\frac{15}{16}  \: hours}}

Therefore,

  • Time = 0.25 hrs

Putting values in the formula,

● Distance = speed × time

● 40 × 0.25

● 10 km

Distance covered in the next 15 min :-

Given :-

  • Speed = 60 kmph

★ Time = 15min

Converting minutes to hours,

● 60 minutes = 1 hours

● 15 minutes =  {\bf{\frac{15}{60}  \: hours}}

Therefore,

  • Time = 0.25 hrs

Putting values in the formula,

● Distance = speed × time

● 60 × 0.25

● 15 km

Total distance covered :-

★ Distance covered in the first 15 min + next 15 min

● 10 + 15

25 km

Therefore,

  • The total distance covered by the car is  \boxed{\bf{25~km}}
