Answer:

For First Speed or First interval:

  • Speed , V' = 40 Km/h
  • Time,  t' = 15 minutes = 15/60 = 1/4 hrs

we have to calculate the distance , s'  ,

        => V' * t' = s'

        => 40 * 1/4 = 10 Km

For Second Speed or Second interval:

  • Speed, V  =  60 Km/h
  • Time ,  t =  15 minutes = 15/60 = 1/4 hrs

We have to calculate the distance , s

         => V * t  = s

         =>  60 *  1/4 = 15 Km

Total distance covered by the car is 15 Km + 10 Km = 25 Km  (Ans.)

                                      Hope it helps
