Given :

Speed of car = 50m/s

Distance covered by car = 100m

To Find :

Time taken by car to cover this distance.

Solution :

Speed : Speed is measured as the ratio of distance travelled to the time taken.

\bigstar\:\underline{\boxed{\tt{\orange{Speed=\dfrac{Distance}{Time}}}}}

  • It is a scalar quantity having only magnitude.
  • It can't be negative or zero.
  • SI unit : m/s

By substituting the given values;

\dashrightarrow\tt\:Speed=\dfrac{Distance}{Time}

\dashrightarrow\tt\:50=\dfrac{100}{t}

\dashrightarrow\tt\:t=\dfrac{100}{50}

\dashrightarrow\:\underline{\boxed{\bf{\gray{t=2\:second}}}}

Additional Information :

  • Velocity is defined as the ratio of distaplacement to the time. It is a vector quantity having both magnitude as well as direction.
  • Acceleration is defined as the rate of change of velocity. It is also a vector quantity.
