QUESTION⤵

a car moves with a velocity of 2.24 kilometre per hour in first minute, with 3.60 kilometre per hour and the second minute and with 5.18 kilometre per hour in the third minute. calculate the average velocity in the three minutes.

ANSWER⤵

Distance travelled in first minute= S1= v1× t1= 2.24× 1/60km

Distance travelled in second minute= S2 = v2× t2= 3.60×1/60 km

Distance travelled in third minute= S3 = v3× t3= 5.18×1/60km

Total distance travelled= s= S1+S2+S3 = 2.24/60+3.60/60+5.18/60

= 11.02/60 km

Total time taken, t= 1+1+1= 3min. = 1/20hr.

therefore, average velocity= s/t

= 11.02/60× 20/1

= 3.67km /hr.
