The body accelerates at 4 meters per second every second so over 4 seconds that is 16 meters per second.

So add this to the original velocity or speed as commonly call it and you arrive at 36 meters per second.

The distance travelled is the average speed x time

The time is 4 seconds

The speed is 20 m/s initially and the final velocity is 36 m/s.

The average is (36+20)/2=56/2=28 m/s

So the distance = 28 x 4 = 112 meters

The Answer is 112 Meters.
