For the first 10 seconds, speed = 2m/s

distance travelled = speed x time = 2 x 10 = 20 metres

In the next 10 seconds, a constant acceleration of 3m/s² is maintained.

But the car's initial speed (u) now becomes 2m/s

Applying laws of motion,

distance covered, s = ut + ¹/₂ at²

= 2(10) + ¹/₂ (3) (10)²

= 20 + ¹/₂ (300)

= 20 + 150

= 170 metres

Therefore the total distance covered in 20 seconds is 190 metres
