Q: A car moves with the speed of 40 km/ hr for 15 minutes and for next 15 minutes the car travel with the speed of 60km/ hr .calculate total distance distance travelled by the car.

First case:
--------------

speed s1 = 40 km/ hr, time t1= 15 min

= 15 /60 hr = 1/ 4 hr

Find the distance1 :
---------------------------

d1 = s1 × t1 = 40 × ( 1/ 4 ) = 10 km

second case :
---------------------

when , speed s2 = 60 km/ hr

time t2 = 15min = 15 / 60 hr = 1/ 4 hr

Find the distance2:
----------------------------

d2 = s2 × t2 = 60 × ( 1 / 4 ) = 15 km

total distance travelled by the car

= d1 + d2

= 10 km + 15 km = 25 km

Answer:total distance = 25 km
