A car moves with the speed of 40km/hr for first hour ,then with a speed of 60km/hr for next half hour and finally with a speed of 30km/hr for next 3 and half hours. calculate the average speed of a car

ANSWER

Speed of car in first 15 minutes = 40 km/h

Distance covered = speed × Time taken

60 minutes = 1 hour

Distance covered = 240×

=10km

Speed of car in next 15 minutes = 60 km/h

Distance covered = 60×

=15km

∴ Total distance covered = (10+15)km = 25 km

∴ 25 km is correct
