1 km = 1000 m

Given,
Distance = 1000 m
Time       = 100 sec

∴ Speed  = $\frac{Distance}{Time}$
               = $\frac{1000}{100}$
               = 10 m/sec
And,
Velocity = 10 m/sec in due east
