Procedure :

As the car takes 15 minutes to cover each side of the square, Hence he must take (15 × 4) minutes to cover all the sides of the square, (As squares have 4 sides) Assuming the velocity is constant throughout the journey (Assuming he doesn't apply breaks while turning).

Hence he takes 60 minutes to cover all the sides of the square.

60 minutes = 1 hour (As we took speed as kmph units)

As s = v · t

⇒ s = 40 × 1 = 40 km

Hence the distance he travelled throughout his journey is 40 km, i.e. the perimetre of the square is 40 km.
