We have,
u (initial velocity) = 20m/s
a (deceleration or retardation) = -2m/s². [when retardation or deceleration is given the acceleration goes to negative)
t (time) = 5sec
So,
v=u+at
v = 20+(-2*5)
v=20+(-10)
v=20-10
v=10m/s
