v = u + at

=> 0 = 30 + a×5

=> 5a = -30

therefore retardation = - 6m/sec²

s = ut + 1/2 a t²

s = 30×5 + 1/2(-6)5²

s = 150 - 3*25

s = 150 - 75 => 75 m

car travels 75 m before coming to a stop
