Force = Mass x Acceleration

Mass = M = 900 Kg

Acceleration = a = ??

V² = U² + 2ad

note that :

V = Final velocity = 0 m/s ( because the car stopped )

U = Intial velocity = 73 Km/hr = 20 m/s

d = Distance = 300 m

a = acceleration = ??

0² = (20)² + 2a(300)

600a = -400

a = - 4/6 = - 0.6 m/s²

Force = 900 x - 0.6 = - 600 N

Magnitude of the force = 600 N
