A car of mass 1000 kg is moving along a straight line with a uniform velocity of 72km/h. The velocity of the car is slowed down to 20m/s in 6s by an external unbalanced force. Find the acceleration and change in the momentum of the car. Also calculate the magnitude of force required.

Answer:

Explanation

m=1000 kg

u=20m/s(we need to convert km/h into m/s)

v=20m/s

t=6s

a=v-u/t

=20-20/6

=0 m/s

p=m*v

=1000*20

=20000kg m/s

F=a*m

=0*1000

=0 N

Hope this helps u

QansaSiddiqua123: I got a different answer on calculating
thesafeman: this question is wrong is 20kmph and not 20mph
thesafeman: still got the answer though
