Answer:

v = 0m/s

u = 60m/s

F = ma

a = (v-u)/t

F = m(v-u)/t

Now substitute

6000 = 1200a

a = 6000/1200

= 5

Retardation = 5m/s2

a = 5

(v-u)/t = 5

= -60/t = 5

= -12s

Answer:

A car of mass m=1200kg moving initially at u=90m/s

=90×5/18=25m/s

let the braking force be given as,

f=−3600t [as f various linearly with time]

The braking force causes retardation,which given by :-

a= f/m= −3600t/1200=−3t

as, a=dv/dt=−3t ⇒∫dv=∫−3dt

=v−u=3t²/2

As u=25m/s , we get:-

v= −3t²/2+25

when car comes to halt v=0 so:-

25=3t²/2⇒t= √50/3s
