Answer:

Mass= 2400 kg

Initial velocity= 20 m/s

Final velocity= 0

Time = 10 s

i. Retardation

= v-u/t

= 0-20/10

= -20/10

= -2 m/s^2

ii. Retarding force

= mass × retardation

= 2400 kg × -2 m/s^2

= -4800 kg m/s^2 or -4800 N.

Thus, retardation is -2 m/s^2 and retarding force is -4800 N.

Hey there!

Given,

Mass = 2400 kg

Inital velocity = 20 m/s

Time = 10 second

Retardation =?

Retarding force =?

Retardation = initial velocity/time

= 20/10

= 2 m/s^2

Retarding force = mass x retardation

= 2400 x 2

= 4800 N

Hope It Helps You!
