A car of mass 3000 kg is to be lifted .the area of cross section of piston carriying a car is 50 cm2. Calculate the force needed to applied on smaller piston having area 10 cm2 to lift the car

we know that pressure,P is constant and

P=F/A

force due to car= mg

= 3000×10

30000 N

P=30000/50......1

let the force required by small piston be f

then pressure is constant

P=f/10.....2

equating 1 and 2

f/10=30000/50

f=6000 N
