a car of speed 5m/s moves from point a to b. at b a tower of hieght 10m . one ball is dropped from the top of the tower. then find how much speed it's required for the car to catch the ball​

Let distance between point a to b be s metres

Time taken by ball to fall on ground :

s= ut+1/2 at^2. (a=g=10m/s) u=0

10= 0+ 5× t^2

t^2= 2

t = 1.43sec

Now to catch ball car need to travel distance s in time 1.43 seconds

so speed of car = s/1.43.

If speed of car is given = 5m/s

and asked to calculate distance between a and b

then

s= vt

s= 5×1.43

= 7.2 m
