Hey dear,

● Answer -

n = 5

◆ Explanation -

Let a be acceleration of the horse & v be its maximum velocity.

According to Newton's kinematics equation,

vavg = (u + v) / 2

vavg = (0 + 125/3) / 2

vavg = 125/6

Distance covered during acceleration,

s1 = vavg × t1

s1 = 125/6 × 12

s1 = 250 m

Rest distance is covered with maximum speed -

s2 = v × t2

1500 - 250 = 125/3 × t2

t2 = 1250 / (125/3)

t2 = 30 s

Total time taken by horse to catch up car -

t = delay + t1 + t2

t = 2 + 12 + 30

t = 44 s

Velocity of the car is given by -

v = s / t

75n/11 = 1500 / 44

n = (1500 × 11) / (75 × 44)

n = 5

Therefore, value of n is 5.
