Answer:

Speed of car: 45 km/hr

The time that is taken to complete journey: 6 hours

Distance traveled: Speed x Time

=45 x 6

=270 kilometers

Speed needed to complete journey in 5 hours: (Speed x Time)/5

= (45x6)/5

= 270/5

=54 km/hr

Therefore, the car needs to travel 54 km/hr to finish the journey in 5 hours.

Given:-

Speed of car is 45 km/hr.

Time taken by car is 6 hours.

Solution:-

Let the Distance traveled by the car be x km.

So, We know that Distance ⇒ Speed × Time

                                         x  ⇒ 45 km/hr × 6 hours

                                         x  ⇒ 270 km

Distance traveled by car is 270 km.

Now, what will be the speed of car if it have to cover the same distance in 5 hours.

Let speed of car be y km/hr.

So, Distance ⇒ Speed × Time

       270 km ⇒ y km/hr × 5 hours

                  y\dfrac{270}{5} km/hr

                 y ⇒ 54 km/hr

Hence, Speed of car to travel 270 km in 5 hours will be 54 km/hr.

Some important terms:-

  • Distance = Speed × Time

  • Speed = \dfrac{Distance}{Time}

  • Time = \dfrac{Distance}{Speed}
