Explanation:

We know the formula of acceleration as

v-u /t = a

Where

v= Final speed

u= Initial speed

t= time

a = acceleration

So we are given that

Initial speed= 54km/h

Final speed= 36 km/h

Time = 5 minutes=>1/12 hrs

So placing it

 \frac{36 - 54}{ \frac{1}{12} }  = a

acceleration = -216 km/h as it is retardation

Thing to Remember

  • acceleration = Final speed- Initial speed/ Time
  • Conversion of units is necessary
