Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

Distance covered by a car in 3 litre petrol= 48 km

Distance covered by a car in 1 litre petrol=

\frac{48}{3}348

= > 16 \: km=>16km

NOW,

Distance covered by car in 4.5 litre petrol= 4.5× 16

= 72 km

Therefore, the car travels 72 km in 4.5 litre of petrol.

Speed = 48 km / hr

Time = 14 hours

Speed = Distance / Time

Total distance covered by car in 14 hours with a speed of 48 km / hr = 48 × 14 km

Now the new speed = 84 km / hr

∴ Time taken by car = (48 × 14) / 84 = 8 hours
