Given : A car running at a speed of 45 km per hour to reach Ghaziabad from Delhi in 20 min. the distance between Delhi and Ghaziabad is shown on a map by a distance 2.5 cm

To Find : Scale of Map , RF

Solution:

car running at a speed of 45 km per hour

Time taken from Ghaziabad from Delhi = 20 min

20/60 = 1/3 hr

Distance = Speed x time

=> Distance between Delhi and Ghaziabad = 45 * (1/3)

= 15 km

2.5 cm  = 15 km

=> 2.5 cm = 15 * 1000  m

=> 2.5 cm = 15 * 1000 * 100 cm

=>   1 cm  = 6 * 1000 * 100 cm

=>  1 cm = 600000 cm

Scale on Map  = 1 : 600000

RF = 1/600000
