Answer:

We know that,

V^2=U^2+2aS

where, V=final vel.

U=intial vel.

a= acceleration

S=displacement

so, (20)^2=(8)^2+2a×60

400=64+120a

a=(400-64)/12

hence,. a=2.8m/s2

Answer -

Given -

  • Initial velocity = 8 m/s
  • Final velocity = 20 m/s
  • Distance covered = 60 m

To Find -

  • Acceleration of car

Solution -

We have initial velocity, final velocity and distance covered, so by substituting the value in 3rd equation of motion, we can find acceleration -

↝ v² = u² + 2as

↝ 20² = 8² + 2 × 60 × a

↝ 400 = 64 + 120a

↝ 120a = 336

↝ a = 336 / 120

↝ a = 2.8

Acceleration = 2.8 m/s²
