Well its baisc mathematics

if 1 liter of petrol gets you 16 kilometers

Then 2.5 liters of petrol gets you ?? Kilometers

Its only theoretical but it gets you the closest number , all you have to do is croos mutiplication i.e: 2.5 liters × 16 kilometers = 40

then you divide 40 by 1 liter
