A car runs 3 hours at a speed of 75 kilometres per hour and next 2 hours at
the speed of 95 kilometres per hour. Find the average speed of the car for
the 5 hours jaurney.

i calculated indirectly , (but I tell you the method isn't wrong)

so ,now

1) for first half

distance covered in 1 hour = 75 km

distance covered in 3 hours = 75×3

=225 km

2) for second half

distance covered in 1 hour = 95 km

distance covered in 2 hour =95×2

=190 km

now, total distance covered = 415 km

total time taken = 5 hours (2+3hrs)

average speed=

 \frac{total \: distance \: covered}{total \: time \: taken}

 \frac{415}{5}

= 83 km is average speed .
