A CAR
runs at constant speed on a circular track
of radius 10 m taking 6.28s on each lap(i.e. round).
The average speed and average velocity for each
complete lap is :
(1) Velocity 10 m/s, speed 10 m/s
(2) Velocity zero, speed 10 m/s
(3) Velocity zero, speed zero
(4) Velocity 10 m/s speed zero

The average velocity is defined by the ratio of displacement to time.
Since, after one complete lap the car returns to it's original position, the displacement is zero and therefore , average velocity is zero.
Now, average speed is , by definition , length of actual path divided by time.
If R is radius of circular path, the path length is (2)(pi)(R), the circumference of the circle.
So, average speed is (2)(pi)R/t =(2)(3.14)(10)/6.28= 10m/s.

Answer:
Option (2)
Explanation:
In a circular track, speed is 10m/s but velocity is 0 as velocity depends on displacement and displacement is 0 in this case...
hope it helps..
