Answer :-

45 m/s

Given:-

  • Initial velocity (u) = 30m/s
  • Acceleration (a) = 3m/s²
  • Time taken (t) = 5 s

To find :-

  • Final velocity

Solution:-

As we know that from equations of motion ,

v = u + at

  • v = final velocity
  • u = initial velocity
  • a = acceleration
  • t = time

Substituting the values,

v = 30 + (3)(5)

v = 30 + 15

v = 45 m/s

So, final velocity of the body is 45 m/s

Alternate method :-

We also can find the final velocity of body by acceleration formula

a = v-u /t

where ,

  • a = acceleration
  • v = final velocity
  • u = initial velocity
  • t = time

Substituting the values,

3 = v-30/5

3(5) = v-30

15 = v-30

15 + 30 = v

45 = v

v = 45m/s

So, final velocity is 45m/s

Know more equations of motion:-

First equation :- v= u+at

Second equation :- s=ut+½at²

Third equation :- v²-u²=2as

where,

  • v = final velocity
  • u= initial velocity
  • a = acceleration
  • s = distance covered
  • t = time taken
