A car speed increases from 40km/hr to 60km/hr in 5sec. calculate the acceleration for car.

Given

t= 5 s
u= 40 km/h

v= 60
v-u = 60-40= 20 ×5/18 m/s = 5.5

a= v-u/t
= 5.5/5= 1.1 m/s2

Acceleration = (v - u)/t
= (60 kmph - 40 kmph) / (5 s)
= (20 kmph) / (5 s)
= [20 kmph × 5/18 (m/s)/kmph] / (5 s)
= 10/9 m/s²
= 1.11 m/s²

[Note: To convert speed in kmph to speed in m/s we multiply it with 5/18]
